Manual desktop install
Start with the Windows package.
Extract the binary-only ZIP to a folder you plan to keep, then install it with the Codex CLI.

Start a new local conversation and ask: “Find the contact preference I shared earlier and check for later corrections.” Get help if installation fails.
Your local files stay in place.
The plugin reads Codex rollouts and writes a derived index on your computer. It does not edit the source files. Selected tool excerpts can enter your Codex or ChatGPT conversation. Read the privacy notice.
